Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge

The large Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge feels more like an international hotel than a lodge. But probably only few hotels will offer such a special and breathtaking view. The lodge is located directly on the crater rim and therefore offers an unobstructed view of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, with occasional wildlife visitors in front of their own terrace.

The Lodge belongs to the Sopa Franchise, which also includes Serengeti Sopa Lodge and Tarangire Sopa Lodge. The rooms of Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge are located in large two-storey houses with four bedrooms, two on the ground floor and two on the upper floor, all overlooking the crater. The rooms are spacious, very clean and have a large new bathroom. However, the rest of the furniture is old-fashioned (probably from the 80s, see photo). As a real special feature the central heating must be mentioned, with radiators in every room – a rare feature in East Africa. Both the service level of the staff and the culinary offerings of Sopa Lodge are excellent.
