• Lion on a Tree Manyara National Park

Karibu Tanzania / Welcome to Tanzania

Lying just south of the equator, Tanzania is East Africa’s largest country, and an immensely rewarding place to visit. There are several world famous attractions:

The endless plains of the Serengeti National Park with its annual great migration of wildebeests and zebras, Ngorongoro Conservation Area with its huge caldera, snow capped  Mount Kilimanjaro and of course the Zanzibar Archipelago with its idyllic palm fringed beaches and historical Stone Town.

Further there is Lake Victoria, on the Kenya – Uganda – Tanzania border. This is the largest lake in Africa and is traditionally named as the source of Nile. Almost everywhere you go you will find fascinating wildlife and inspiring landscape (over 40% of the country is protected in some form or other) ranging from forest covered volcanic mountains to dusty Savannah populated by elephants, antelopes, lions, leopard and cheetahs…

The United Republic of Tanzania is one of the four most naturally diverse nations on earth: it contains Africa’s second largest number of bird species (around 1500), the continent’s biggest mammal population (including the famous Big Five) and 75 % of East Africa’s plant species (more than 10.000). The climate of Tanzania ranges from hot and humid on the coast, to a more temperate climate in the elevated center of the country.

Almost as multifaceted as the Tanzanian landscape are the people and their culture. Over 120 tribes with their own languages and traditions live together harmoniously in Tanzania. Add to this some superb hiking and other activities like snorkeling and diving, and you have the makings of a holiday of a lifetime.

Tanzania Experts offers you carefully designed bespoke Safari in Tanzania, for example to the Lake Manyara and the Tarangire National Park, with mountain and trekking tours to Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, as well as to the unique beaches of the Zanzibar Islands and Mafia.

Trekking

Kilimanjaro | Mount Meru

Make your dream come true – climb the highest and most famous peak in Africa. Kilimanjaro is almost 6000 meters above sea level and is protected by the national park of the same name. All our professional mountain guides posses extensive knowledge about the different routes and climate conditions. During your mountain safari you can also learn a lot about the fauna and flora of this unique nature reserve.

Beach Holiday

Zanzibar | Tanzania Mainland | Mafia

After a dusty and exciting Safari, the Zanzibar archipelago with the famous spice island Unguja in the Indian Ocean with its long Muslim history is a pleasant contrast and ideal to conclude the holiday. But a visit to the mainland coast is also worthwhile – e.g. the city of Bagamoyo (also Bagamojo), which was founded at the end of the 18th century and served as the capital of the colony German East Africa.

Guest Testimonial

Dear Lisa,

Just a brief note to say how much we enjoyed our Safari and Zanzibar holiday which you arranged for us.

The very wet conditions in the Serengeti and the problems this created made it a real ‘adventure’ and we would like to record our personal thanks to your driver / guide Melchiory who was excellent both in his care for us and his knowledge of wildlife, birdlife and general info on Tanzania. He worked extremely hard to ensure that we made the Bush Camp and when the vehicle became stuck he impressed us by not standing and directing the helpful locals but by being very actively involved in digging the vehicle out, waist deep in the mud! We would recommend him to any of your future travellers. We are also grateful to the staff amd manager at the Bush Camp for the care provided during our stay again in difficult conditions, they made us most welcome and comfortable and it was a real change from the previous hotels. Having said this we also appreciated the comforts of the various hotels and lodges particularly liking the Arusha Coffee Lodge.

The transfers to Zanzibar with Air Excel were also a very good experience and we really enjoyed both the Z Hotel and the Dhow Palace Hotel. Also thanks to our guide in Zanzibar, Ali, for his very good tour of Stone Town.
