6 Days Trekking Tour Kilimanjaro Machame Route
brief overview
he Machame Route is one of the most beautiful trekking routes to the summit of Kilimanjaro. It is considered to be the most scenic of the various variants and is suitable for people with mountain experience who wish to go for a more physically demanding ascent than Marangu or Rongai can offer.
Despite the higher degree of difficulty, Machame is currently very popular, as the topography of the route allows the strategy of “climb high and sleep low“. The ascent begins in the lush rainforest and follows a path which, on a clear day, offers a magnificent view of its little brother Mount Meru and Kibo peak. There are no huts on this trail, so you will sleep in tents, which are transported by porters. This tour can be extended by an additional acclimatization day.
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha / Moshi
Transfer from Kilimanjaro airport or Arusha bus terminal (e.g. from Nairobi) to your accommodation in Moshi or Arusha.
