Maru Maru Hotel

The Maru Maru Hotel Zanzibar is located just a few steps away from colourful markets and a maze of small streets with a variety of shops. Nearby are the Old Ford, House of Wonders, Forodhani Gardens, Stonetown Beach and the Anglican Cathedral.

The hotel was restored a few years ago and offers air-conditioned rooms with views of the city or the courtyard garden. The hotel is divided into a classic wing in the old Sultan style and a modern part with a more contemporary interior and a quiet courtyard with fountain and the restaurant, which serves a breakfast and dinner buffet. Most notable is the roof terrace, which offers one of the best views of the city with a 360° panorama (see photos) and the Terrace Restaurant with Indian cuisine. A bar and grill facilities are also available.
