Seronera Wildlife Lodge

The Seronera Wildlife Lodge is ideally located in the heart of the Serengeti. It is located on the banks of the Seronera River, making it an ideal, centrally located base for any safari in the National Park. The airstrip, also called Seronera (the most important in the Serengeti) and the starting point for hot air balloon safaris is also nearby.

The Seronera Wildlife Lodge was built in 1960 and is therefore one of the oldest lodges in the whole northern circuit. It is located on “Kopjes” (rocky outcrops) and therefore allows a beautiful view of the savannah. Seronera offers 75 ensuite guest rooms with dark wooden furniture, a restaurant, a bar, a gym, internet access, a viewing platform and a swimming pool carved out of the rock (see photo). The lounge is particularly nostalgic with its old leather sofas, rock art and painted walls. In May and June the great animal migration passes the Seronera area.
